Boat name - time laps

Post by JimmyG »

I had my motorcycle air brush guy Chris come in and paint the name on my transom, I'm ready to leave in a few days for the motor installation here is a time laps video, this guy is a true artist!

Really nice. I don't think anything beats a name painted on a boat. Hard to find anyone to do it, that is the only reason I wnet vinyl tape last time.

Did you do the registration numbers to match? That would be sweet.

That is the truth Tony. Last time I wanted to have done the guy said he would, but I'd have to bring the boat to him. Okay, that was out, so a couple beers later, a little extra money, I agreed to pick him up and drop him back home and tossed in a lunch and a case of beer (for after he fiished). He agreed, but only took the extra money and beer. After that I went vinyl...but paint looks SO Much Better...and what JimmyG had done...over the Top!

The other issue, some of the sign painters don't have the insurance you need to work in a Marina. I know of one person in my area, you have to drag her to the boat and stand next to her. Problem is, most Marina's will not let her since she does not carry enough insurance. Funny though because 15 years ago, they all used to let her do their paint jobs.

They are all afraid of something happening. Like destroying the gel coat on boat.
