Ladder from box to bridge

Post by John F. »

I really don't like the stock Bertram set-up, and my ladder is missing one of the "bullet" things that fit into the end of the ladder that fits into the holes in the flybridge. I need a ladder--or more accurately, my wife wants the ladder to stay. So, I was thinking of a bracket with a pin type set-up like on a bimini top. Any FBC or SF owners have a good idea or solution? Thanks

JohnF,
How about using the type of ladder that Yannis posted about, it's on the next page of posts under 28 Bertram fly bridge ladder. It looks like a pretty good set -up and hinges up out of the way when you have to get into the engine box.

Thanks Pete. I looked at that. Neat design. I'm just trying to see what else others have done. I've seen some pretty clever stuff here over the years.

Not my boat and no affiliation with the owner. Just looking through and thought this was an interesting solution to the ladder.

Bob-

That may really work for now. My stock ladder isn't that great, and is missing the bullet thing that fits into the top on one side. Thanks. I really hate to ask, but could I trouble you for a picture of the ladder?

John

Mike,

I've seen your pipework. Great idea, but not going to work for the wife. That, and I don't have a gin pole. Thanks though.

I removed my ladder many years ago, just have the side steps for the bridge.

My mom still enjoys the boat, she is 85 and still can get on the bridge.

John, hey, there ain't better than Bob's.
It would help if you told us your family's prerequisites of a B31 ladder.

Bob-

I'm grateful for the ladder and didn't mean to offend. The ladder on my '69 had different treads than the ladder I have now on Crows Nest, and both are different than yours and are built different. Yours looks perfect, and looks a lot better than the ladder I had on the Anna E and that I have now on Crows Nest. Its a big step up. I'll pm you, and make a donation to the site. Again, I really appreciate it.
