Happy Birthday Mike Ohlstein

Post by TailhookTom »

Happy Birthday to the Professor -- it it wasn't for Capt. Patrick, Bruce and Mike -- we wouldn't have this sandbox, nor know each other!

How many borrowed years are you up to now, Mike? We all hope there are at least another 40!

Coming back from a meeting at our research labs I saw a group of Catholic school kids waiting for the bus with their teacher -- there was a puddle in just the right spot -- as I sprayed slushy/muddy water on them I yelled out the window "Happy Ohlstein Day!"

yo fren,

After feeding some kittens to a pack of pit bulls, I went over to the school for the deaf and signed to them, "did you hear its mike Ohlstein day?".

Now I have to go flatten some tires on an ambulance and replace polydent with quick set epoxy at the old folks home.
America needs a Guy Ohlstein day.

Nice typo Peter! In a fashion similar to Bob Lico's issue with his 1909 Alco those intimately close to Mike may consider sliding a drip pan under him as well.

On your b-day Mike I had a Mean day, almost. Took Dreamsicle up our creek a quarter mile to her new home. A hundred feet from my destination (and creeping along) suddenly the starboard engine quit. Hmmm, never done that before. Cranked it and it started immediately, put her in gear and she quit again. Hmmm, again. Bet I have something fouling the prop, I thought. It's so shallow with the lowest winter tide on record that I can't run on one engine. Since I had just completed maintenance dredging the dredger threw me a line and we pulled her through the mud and onto the lift. Up she went and sho nuf there was a crab pot wound around the starboard prop. No damage but a pain in the butt. Got her winterized in the nick of time, the high today - 30.
By the way guys, all the advice on setting the bunks on the lift worked Perfectly.

Rawleigh,
Got 90% off with a hose, the rest will have to wait until either the weather warms or it gets cold enough that I can walk under the boat and scrape.
Thanks
