Trailer for a B31

Post by John Swick »

I'm looking to buy a trailer in the NE USA for a light (no tower, gas motors) Bahia Mar.
Needs to be highway worthly for the long trip (~600 miles) back to Canada.
Any referrals on a new or good used one would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Don't know about NE, but Alex Whitaker is very well versed on B31s and trailers for them. (ABT)
He knows just how to cradle them and trailers are great quality aluminum I-beam and running
gear. This is west coast though.

John S,
You should check with Dr.Jerry, owner of Zero Cavity he bought a brand new triple axel aluminum bunk trailer when he redid his 31, I can't remember but I think it was a 15K or 18K unit that fit the boat perfectly, also check with Capt. Pat I think he bought a trailer for John Hancock's redo.

John,
I have the same trailer that Gerry has...18k triple axle with tortion bars. It's made by Hi Tech trailers out of Panama City Fl. It's a hell of a drive, but, you can borrow mine.

I bet we could get it up there. I need to go to Toronto anyway.

We just need a few guys in the middle to do some of the legs. The fuel cost will be much less than a new trailer.....

There is a 21,000 lb. tri axel trailer on craigslist in East Lyme. CT for $1,800 - 860-460-6303. He was going to put his Bertram on it.

Thanks for the lead Harry, I'll follow it up.

Mike et al, now that would be a trip.
Unfortunately, this is a project boat (tank and decks anyways) that's been in storage for few years.

One of these days I'm going to smarten up and buy a Bertram that can get home on it's own bottom.

Cheers Guys,
John

Thanks for the offer Mike but that CT trailer looks like more of a good yard trailer to me.

I'm getting close on a trailer up here.
Also looking @ Ushipping one of those Hi Tech trailers from Florida to Maryland (where the boat is now).

Storage is paid til the end of November, so I've got sometime to work everything out.
