Hey Guys,
What can I expect to pay for the 6061 1/4" caps for the stringers/sisters and the 6061 3/8" angled engine ramps for a repower engine installation per Capt. Patrick's Buddy Boy engine installation? I'm trying to get some rough cash flow budgeting squared away.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Engine Bed Caps & Ramps
I wouldn't be able to even guess a price for aluminum since the materials for Buddy Boy were purchased over 10 years ago. Bruce did the same job on Steve's B31 a few months back and may have a feel for price including powder coating, but that will be a Florida price and may not be similar to your price in California.
Roughly you'll need 20' of channel, 10' of angle, and 14' of plate.
Your best bet would be show the images of Buddy Boy's install to some good local welders and get a quote or estimate from them...

Just generally speaking Capt. Patrick, would you expect this to be in the $2500 range, $1000 range? I'll get a quote, but I'm just trying to ascertain some general expectations.

Followed the capts advise, used 3" aluminum channel on top of the new stringers, ,epoxied with peanut butter, bought the angle stock and the flat plane stock, had welded towers anodized , cost over 3000$ , the anodizing wasc1000 because of the polishing necessary,

Re: Engine Bed Caps & Ramps
Sandwiched ipe to the stringers with thickened epoxy, had 3/8" 6061 flat bar welded into channels, epoxied to ipe and Through bolted with 1/2" ss bolts.
Ramps are 1/2" 6061 flat bar stock custom welded to exact angles...
Entire setup ran 16-1800ish all said and done
