rudder shelf
what thickness of frp would be sufficient for the rudder shelf took my deck up and realized the deck support went through the starboard side so I want to rebuild it better of coarse
Re: rudder shelf
Go to Capt Pats tips section, thats how I made my rudder shelf. Two layers of 1/2 okume plywood epoxied together then covered with 1708, tabbed and fillet to hull, should last a few more years...BH
1966 31 Bahia Mar #316-512....8 years later..Resolute is now a reality..Builder to Boater..285 hours on the clocks..enjoying every minute..how many days till spring?
Re: rudder shelf
thank you sir yours came out great
Re: rudder shelf
I did a similar process, dry fitted the parts out of laminated coosa board, removed and covered with 1708 and thru bolted back into the stringer system, n mine is mechanically attached with bolts, fender washers and nuts, no tabbing used

I used 3/8 inch Fiberglass u channel that we bolted in also. You can stand on it and it does not even sag.
