Worth the wait

Finally got the boat in a few weeks ago.

Spent the later part of the spring putting another 44 gallons of fuel along with all the plumbing and transfer pump in Chimeras belly (water-we don't need no stinking water).

Got to put it to good use on Saturday.

Ran out of Manasquan to the southern corner of the Wilmington (previously beyond our limit with range). What a great bite down there. Kept 10 of over 25 yellowfins and on the way home found the bluefins pushing and caught a nice over at 50" and a nice under at 40". Missed yah Bob H

It's a nice feeling transferring fuel and watching the main tank fuel gauge go up on the ride home. Although traveling that distance is exhausting on a day troll, I commented to my partner that we've had shorter overnighters. This "day troll" was 26 hours long. Boat ran great and caught the crap out of tuna, now it's time to whitey fish

Ok... how much fuel was in the boat when you got back to the dock? My guess is 55 gallons.

Had a tank fabricated out of aluminum Mike

Not sure how much fuel was left. Bounced b/w 1/8 and 1/4 when we hit the inlet. We won't take fuel till the next trip which may not be for awhile as next weekend looks sketchy right now.

Northern Lights M673LD2 5kW. .59 GPH under full load X 26 = 15.34 gallons

No load .32gph or roughly 8.32 gallons

Something strange here ; oakdale Yacth to the deep 112 miles there 7 hours trolling come back with between 1/8 and 1/4 on 230 gallon tank. We only come back with 3 maybe a sword strike.

Yeah Mike that burn takes away a bit of the get home juice for sure, we knew it when we put the unit in. It's sooooooo quiet though its worth the extra burn.

JP, I believe Bob Lico is referring to the fish count comparison as his run comparision is close in hours and miles, just not as much tugging on the ends of his hooks nor meat in the box.

I don't have A/C, but my 3.5 kw unit could barely burn a gallon in three hours if I did.

Fueled up today, we put 44 gallons out of 44.5 in the auxiliary and another 155 in the main for a total burn of 199 gallons out of 266. Feeling pretty comfy to run up to 120 each way. Going short tmrw only 60 miles.

Today was a nightmare Bob. Tournament limit is 60 miles from Manasquan Inlet. Ran right to the line and watched the water go from green to grey. Put the lines in made two passes on some structure and the water turned crappy green and the bluefish moved in thick 10 on! Lost about 200.00 bucks worth oh flouro and shutes not to mention everything that I did get back was wrecked. Buddy boat was 25 miles down the line with same thing. Think we are screwed until this wind cycle changes. Need anything different 62 degrees on the beach.....brrrrrrr

Fog and 3-5ft all day on a B31, took the top of a wave through the open u-zip at 5.5kts and no tunas to be found, did catch the biggest damn bluefish I've ever seen today, fish had to be close to 22lbs, ate the 12" bar

Good news is I'll still be rocking when I go to bed
