relocating gen set on my 42 bertram

Post by Todd Pearce »

Hi,to all thanks for reading this,I`am sure that one or some of you have relocated a gen set,I have not,and i whish to move the one on my B42 from in the rear to in the engine bay so as to free up the space under the cockpit for dive gear etc, Is this a good idea,or am i creating more problems than I`am solving?? I once read "the wheel reinvented often ends up square" any and all info welcomed

Bertrams idea of putting the genset and battery system under the back deck was dumb.

The gen set goes between the engines front bulk head fine. Due to being in interior now, sound shield is a must especially on an old mcck onan which was a common install.

I am using sound down spoke with Steve moyer at sound down today. Very nice guy and very informative. 186 for a 4x8 sheet of 1lb. 1 1/2 inch. Cheaper than the product sold localy here. Joe
