Paint primer?

I need a recommendation for a primer. I am going with the 1 part, Interlux Brightsides. I have had good luck in the past with this paint. I intend to brush, also as I have done in the past with good results. I am looking for a primer that can be brush applied, them wet sanded smooth prior to top coat, any recomendations?

Spraying is out of the question in this application, work a little, paint a little, work a little, paint a little + working in the great out doors. Need to protect the epoxy work during this marathon build, and have something on the glass that will highlight the areas needing additional fairing.

Also, to indicate the areas that need additional/final fairing...
There are many commercially available guidecoats and marking fluids. They're pretty pricey.
Can also do the spray can spray-bomb, but I find that to be a big ol mess.
What I like to use is a combination of two things you already have in your "boat shop" and are easy as hell to apply.

break open a sharpie, or other permanent marker- remove the ink cartridge & slice it open down it's length and place it in a cup/bucket with acetone
put on your nitrile gloves, and mash the cartridge up to release the ink/dye
wipe the dyed acetone over your recently primed surface with a good ol rag



then sand your surface with 220.
After sanding the dye and brushmarks off, any remaining low spots/pinholes/imperfections will still be stained and a clear indicator where you need to drag another application of fairing compound/ adtech / etc...
