Spring in the Deep Deep South

Post by Harry Babb »

This morning we were headed to the river for a day with the family and friends.

Happened to have my camera when I noticed the orchard coming up on my left.

This entire weekend was as nice as I have seen in a long time.

It does look like gas prices are having an affect on boating.....traffic on the river today was minimal.

By the way......this is where PECANS come from. When I was in my late 20's I worked for the man that owned the orchard in the picture. He also had a few other smaller orchards.......altogether in 1978 he/we produced and sold just a little over 1,000,000 pounds of pecans.

Warming up after a chilly dip in the river......that river water is cold even in August......but these kids will swim in it no matter how cold it gets.
