Starboard vs wife's cutting board

I just ordered 2 pieces of Starboard 1/2" 12 3/8" x 17 3/8"...$38..free shipping. My wife's cutting board is 26" x 32" and costs under $20 at Walmart...damn...same damn stuff...anything marine and look out!
I know what to do, next time, fellas...Pam will say "where's my cutting board?"..."How am I supposed to know?"..."I'm blind...leave me alone"

Reading this I would be more worried where the knives are, lol

if the purpose of the starboard is to cut bait then yes just use a regular cutting board, but I dont think those boards will hold up long to constant UV exposure if it were used for trim work or doors.

you think about cutting boards are definitely food grade where as all plastics and even corian is not all food grade. You have to specifically buy food grade corian.

I use cutting boards for all of my small starboard plastic needs. I have a thru hull backing plate for my backup bilge pump discharge that still has the handle on it. LOL!

I'm with you Tony, this is a damn rough crowd, shameless, mean, etc. But I've found the other half of her cutting board makes pretty good backing plates for rod holders.

I had to laugh...

One of my bilge pumps was broken when I bought the boat. When I removed it I found it mounted to an old piece of 1/4' aluminum which was nasty.

The pump is now mounted to a piece of an old cutting board! Works perfect.

lucky that aluminum wasn't a old stop sign, cant tell you how many car repairs we made as kids using stop signs
