Suzie's Pissed (or not so much) -- Finally Launched!

After six years in the driveway, Suzie's Pissed is complete and was launched last Sunday (on the anniversary of Katrina -- how screwed up is that?)! I didn't sleep the night before with visions of broken trailers on the highway and citations for illegal trailering activities. She lauched with no problems and it felt good to start her up on the water instead of the driveway.

I posted some work in progress pictures on the attached site. Check out the fishing pics too.

WOW. unbelievable!!! Congratulations, what an amazing project. She's a real beauty. I'm sure a lot of people have given up on boats that were in much better shape than yours was post Katrina. Where are you going to keep her? My 31, Decoy, is at Venice Marina, just around the corner from where yours was in the "before" pics. I have been out of the country, but my brother Joe went down to Venice Marina today to add some more dock lines for T.S. Lee. THANKS JOE! I'll have to buy you a beer sometime and talk to you about your project. Love the white shrimp boots in the "after" pictures.

Great job, I bet it feels good to have the boat back in the water and your driveway reclaimed for parking your car. Like Jack said most people would have given up after the storm damage. Enjoy your "new" boat.

you have come a long long way. i feel a person like you appreciates a 31 bertram far more then the average guy whom just go`s out and pluck some loot down a drive off. you know every square inch of that bottom as well as repair area you even close your eyes and run your hand over it to feel any hills and valleys the boat just becomes part of you after a while . great job and lots of luck.--------------------bob

Great job!

As someone who has been rebuilding a B33 for the past year (actually 4 years, but the past one has had a much larger time and money committment) I marvel at the work you have done! I know it sounds melodramatic, but you almost have to enter into a love affair with a boat if you are going to rebuild her in a fashion that makes you proud when you are finished. Especially if you do most of the work yourself.

You certainly have a right to be proud of yourself and your boat!

Congratulations, and I wish you and your family many happy Bertram hours!

I have been waiting since Katria to see if she would run proud again. Mike posted that picture of the side missing a few weeks ago. I started wounder how the repair was going. She looks great you have to be real proud of all the hard work. Good job keeping a classic going and not giving up.
