Long island earthquake?

I'm in the old eab plaza in Uniondale. Building shook violently, everyone evacuated safely. My tv mounted to the wall almost fell down.

Safe and orderly evacuation of two 16 floor towers, we have a drill 2x per year.

According to national news -- 5.8 off of Virginia -- I felt it sitting at my desk, I assumed I was just having another post accident dizzy spell until co-workers all said they felt the building shake too -- 500,000 square feet and only 2 stories high, had to have some horsepower to shake this building!

we had it here on the southern outer banks of NC, place started shakin ,ran out of the house. Who says I'm chicken shit.

Damn armadillos!! I have never felt anything like that, weird sensationmade even weirder by hundreds of people running out of their buildings...

i was taking a break between surf sessions and looking out at the ocean with a friend. a bunch of one foot waves appeared about 100 yards out and started breaking. this is usually impossible. i guess the ocean was vibrating a little. lasted about a minute. when i was out surfing the faces of some of the very clean waves had strange ripples in them like boat wake.....but there were no boats.

I was stopped at a traffic light and felt the van start to surge and retreat like I had a load of bad gas. Then I looked at the car next to me, and it was rockin and rollin also. City Hall was evacuated in Manhattan.

After Tuesday's earthquake.

FOX news reported the Washington monument is now leaning towards the right, while MSNBC reported it's leaning left. CNBC is reporting S&P downgraded the earth quake to a magnitude of 4 and CNN reports it's viewers along the east coast are tweeting "did you feel that?".

President Obama in Marthas Vineyard said "let me be clear, I am going to play golf".
