Is this custom or from the factory? Anyone have a source of these?

Thanks

That's from the factory. I have a similar plate on my 20, but not on my 31 (or I can't find it).

Its original factory - I had one on my 1972 B25 and my 1969 B20. The B31s did not have them.

I would think any good engraving house with a computer controlled engraver could .. I suspect they would need one to duplicate....
I do have one source to check out and I'll let you know..

If you go this route and find someone before me, please keep me posted... I would like to get one..and there may be others too..

I contacted a trophy/plaque place and they said they can't duplicate it. It looks like acid echted they said. I am coming up with dead ends. If you come up with anything please run with it, I am certainly in.

I made on of these for an artist shooting a TV commercial for Whirlpool a few years back, I'm pretty sure it was this one in fact. The engraving involved on that oval spheroid surface is very difficult.

We found two excellent engravers at that time. One in Farmingdale and one in Mineola. I am very sure that I could get that plate made for you guys. Office is on vacation next week so give me a few days to find the right place.

John, That would be great...

Captbone, and John, it does look like acid etching but I bet it could be duplicated very close with reverse engraving if the shop had a CNC engraver.. Just have to find an engraver with the right equipment.....

A CNC mill can also do engraving with the proper tooling.

I just can't bring myself to ask my cousin to tie up his Matsurra 500 for an afternoon for a few name plates .....

I'd be building that library he wants in his house for free..
