Further to the Bow Chock, Ebay debacle
How disappointing to me. I thougth we, as the Faithful, had a gentleman's agreement not to bid against one and other on Ebay items. I know in the past many of us have posted notices that we were bidding on items and asked that the Faithful please show deference by leaving this alone. My blood pressure shot out of site this morning and I was equally disappointed to find that the person who out-bid me is a regular on this site. If that bow chock had meant so much to you why didn't you email me and I would have backed off and allowed you to have it. Well, my Faithful brother, Enjoy!

Sorry to hear, Mikey; I hope it was an oversight and not intentional. When Uncle Vic was bidding on a Bertram Bahia Mar several years back, we all cleared the decks and helped him monitor the auction in case his computer went down. He got the boat, enjoyed it for several years and sold it to another of the faithful here on the Board. Jim Bailey has it now, and when I was on it a few weeks ago it looked like a new boat with the new Fighting Lady Yellow paint job. It should be at Ocean Reef now, a great platform for Jim and Doc to fish from.

If I remember correctly, a year or two ago there was some outfit in France that had a bunch of them, brand new. They had bought them off of Bertram when Bertram dumped all of the parts they did not want. You might want to try the old website and do a search. If I remember right they were not cheap, but if they are stuck with them, they may make a deal. Tony Meola

Many people ask us about parts for the older boats and not always do we have answers. I can tell you that our dealer in France, CNB , located in St Tropez has a lot of misc parts for 31's, 28's and 25's. He has original shafts, struts, props, bow chocks ,etc. In late 80's he bought entire stock of what was in the Bertram factory warehouse at the time. Even has SS hand rails for some models.

Tommy, I wish it had been an oversite but after my investigation it was not.
Tony, The French connection has new bow chocks for about Six large. Whew!
Andre, Not a clue, Pal.

Mikey - been over at the camp.....the one on my desk is the solid top one. Appears to have never been chromed, doubt its from a Bertram. No electrical at all, but the lenses are good. Has a few dings, so it was used on something. If you can't find a "real" one we can do a deal. I abandoned trying to keep the lights working in the bow chcok on AJ. Added Perko lexan side lights on the sides of the FB. It is virturally impossible to keep water out of the bow chock lights. Sure we gotta have the original bow chock for looks, but forget trying to using it for your bow lights.
