Nippon Denso pumps

Post by Mikey »

On my 6BTA 300's are Nippon Denso injection pumps. My Cummins manual has nothing about the adjustment of them. Additionally I need the gaskets for the adjustor covers on one pump. I have searched the internet for a manual or instructions to no avail. One engine idles slower that the other making the throttle levers uneven. I have had two "diesel mechanics" attempt adjustment and they both were baffled. Wish I were closer to Bruce, I'd call him to come by. Anyway, has anyone a source for the pump manual if one exists or can someone give me instructions here? Also where do I get the parts?
Thanks
Mikey

Injector pumps are big buck items. I'd be afraid to play with them. Can't you make your idle adjustments on your throttle arm? I don't have 300's but idle adjustments on my 6bt's are a small turn on a screw on the arm that acts like a governor.

Me too...what Walter said

I have the Nippo pumps.....I believe that there are Limit Screws on the throttle arm on the side of the pump, and they are adjustable.

They are probably sealed with a Tie Wire and a Pump Shop Stamp....but I see no problem with adjusting the Idle screw.....but I would not mess with the "Go Faster" screw.
