E-BAY

No connection to seller--but there seems to be a nice restoration by Becker & Cassidy on e-bay----boats are selling pretty cheap these days

I couldn't place it at first, but I think that's the "Stars and Stripers" or something like that. It used to be around Annapolis, and if that's the boat, I saw it at Bay Bridge Marina once.

It is Stars and Stripers and was sold newly refurbished in 2002 for around $200K. Becker and Cassidy is no longer in business, (Ron Becker died of a heart attack around 2004). This was their first of 2 or 3 B31s...

The same boat is listed on yacht world for $138,900

There showing the starting bid on eBay at $75k but who knows what the reserve is.

Regardless it is a buyers market. Older gas boat plus diesel repower is going to cost more then a totally refurbished boat with slightly used diesels.

Being new to the B31 I'd assume it was not always this way. What was a refurbished boat with diesels going for? And how about a boat like mine older running gas motors? Before prices dropped, say 5 or 10 years ago.

Just curious.

For a while a nice FBC or SF with Cummins or Yanmars and good equpment was going for 100-120K....a few for more, then the prices slowly began to drop as fuel prices crept up. But, a B31 is still a bargain today as I doubt any of us have a good feel for how long they will really last. Its still about the only boat you can carefully put money in and get most of it out after a very long time.

Good gas boats used to sell in the 50s and 60s but those days are long gone.

Today the price depends largely by the amount of fuel you have in the tank at time of sale...and whether or not its a new tank.
