A week from today and we're there. One more blast from the frozen North. Love our Canadian neighbors but this time of year I'd like to close the borders to their weather.
May I sell anyone here a piece of paradise? Let me know.

On the contrary on Saturday I dug a path through the snow so I could clean off the boat. Not a fun time.

Digging a path to get to the boat is a lot better than digging a path so the dog can "use the facilities." She is all girl, doesn't want to damage her mani/pedi!

Hueso,

I might head to Mayaguez or Cabo Rojo this Sept.. Do you know any good charter boats for billfishing there? Prefer a 31 bert.? But a good crew is the most imprtant. Thanks!

Looks spectacular! On this end, I finished shoveling snow up to hip deep last night off of my deck. I took three days to do it, not all at one time. Lots of deck... And we have more due tomorrow and Wednesday, perhaps up to 20" more! I don't care, as the snowblower is fired up and waiting, and the truck with the plow is back in action after its freeze up!

Ready to rock as they say.

That being said, those pictures do look delightful!!!!

Counsellor - filet and cut thin, dust filets in general purpose flour with a little salt added or fine ground corn meal. Set them aside. Make a little saute' of butter and olive oil, heat that gently and add some crushed garlic and some onion powder and simmer a few minutes to soften up the garlic....now turn the heat up to med. and lay the fillets in and saute' them about 2 minutes a side or maybe a little more until they turn golden...they be ready to eat.....I'd say try to slice the filets no more than a half inch thick, that's the trick.

Me & the Bride are going to Miami Beach day after tomorrow for a week....ahhhhhhh.

Tommy, Nice catch. My bad, flu brain at work.

Prices range from $68,900 for .53 acres to $195,000 for 1.50 acres.
Not bad for a slice of paradise.

Costs on Tortola for residential construction average about $300 per sq. ft.
This is usually a concrete house built over a cistern with metal roof. I make this sound very simplistic but the builders on island are capable of some very nice and intricate work, depending on the builder of course. Many of our houses in Belmont are the simple rectangular Caribbean type houses while we also have several that would easily grace the pages of Architectural Digest. A few have indeed done so.

There is a Bertram 31 named "Mareja" at La Parguera that charters daily. Blue Marlin season is on during September and you may have a shot at two or three fish a day. I do not know the Mareja crew, but I know they have been doing this for years and have a great reputation around the area. Their site is:
