Crash Pumps
Got the crash pumps on both engines in today....made note of how you guys set them up and added my own spin on things...Port engine connects to a 1 1/2" through hull pick up located low in the main engine bilge area...the starboard pump also connects to a 1 1/2" through hull but passes through the forward bulkhead which is a dry or separate bilge compartment..zip tie with a slight notch keeps the valve closed..hope to never need them...BH
1966 31 Bahia Mar #316-512....8 years later..Resolute is now a reality..Builder to Boater..285 hours on the clocks..enjoying every minute..how many days till spring?

Very nice. You might want to Mark them for operation in case someone else has to do it.

Thanks for the feedback guys...Like you once said Bruce one system at a time...do it right then move on...Rocky, I used G10 fiberglass board for the backer pad on the genny, the engines I used Okume I had left over from my main bulkhead..Covered both sides with 1708, cut and drilled all holes then let it soak in epoxy before I installed it(hadnt found the G10 at that point of project). Harry the genny fits like a glove, plenty of room to work around it and keeps the center of gravity low just where I want it. The smooth bilge adds a few hours of fairing and grinding...In the scope of this project it really doesnt matter...I lost count of my time two years ago. BH.

bob i am familar with the scoop thru hull and i am guessing there is no need for it to be more then hand tighten due to it`s limited use. come winter you unscrew and install reducing bushing and then waterhose fitting and use to apply glycol to system after shutting main raw water valve. was this your intention?

Mike, You grabbed hold of a valve handle anddddd....handle in hand..yes they are stainless..Dug, the boat is Rehoboth, Mass..drop me a pm if you are in the eastern part of the state and would like to take a look...BH
