Game ball to the Jets defense.... especially the Secondary.
Kept the city boy on his heels and off his game.
Hope they can do a repeat performance against the Steelers next week....never liked Pittsburgh sinse the mid 70's when they kept beating my favorite team at the time <Vikings>
I've still got a bunch of Saint's " WhoDat/Twopeat" shirts for sale.... maybe next year ;->>

Your kidding right?I hope as parents you guide your children live to higher levels of sportsmanship than the Jets have evidenced all along this year
You do know that Santa Claus and the tooth fairy aren't real?
Boy are the scripts for valium and prozac gonna sky rocket come tomarrow in New England.
dug...i guess you missed the tape of the pats guy tripping the jets gunner. its pretty common.
heres the deal......love him , hate him or dont give a sh!t... these are the facts.......the jets have been a sad sack second rate team for FORTY years. even parcells couldn't go to the playoffs two years in a row. as of now the second year coach and the second year QB have won TWICE as many play off games as any other jet team. hes unique and often embarrassing but he has completely changed the culture of winning in jets land. the first thing he ever said.."i didnt come here to kiss belichicks ring"
he backed it up.
and your grapes do seem sour. us jets fans know how to lose gracefully...we have more practice than anyone.

You are correct, I am and always will be a New York Football Giant's fan! I also acknowledged that they were not a very good team this year and that Eli Manning plays well when he doesn't try and think.
If you want to bring up the spirit of fair play I have one word for you to consider - SPYGATE!
Your friend and diehard New York Football Giant's fan,
Tom
PS, when the Red Sox beat up my Yankees this year, feel free to return the abuse!

By rule, you can place your hand on the turf, but if any other part touches, like a forearm or an elbow, then you are down by contact. You can also completely go down and if untouched may get up and continue running. That also happened but the Jet receiver decided to stay on the ground.randall wrote:the first one was the QB keeper where he put his palm on the turf just short of the goal line....but what the hey.....looks like seattle is toast.

Hats off to the jets...pats need to have their collective nosses rubbed in it..that was THE worst game they have ever played...the 200-300 guys who cleared the 20" of snow in four days worked harder than the players...hey mr kraft next time have the players earn their keep and shovel the damn stadium themselves..this is NOT the tough blue collar team I used to watch..how much did brady get for that game 15 million? I hope they lock the bums out next year..let em stew over that last game..I wont be watching them next year...smells like pro wrestling..BH
1966 31 Bahia Mar #316-512....8 years later..Resolute is now a reality..Builder to Boater..285 hours on the clocks..enjoying every minute..how many days till spring?
the steelers will be a much tougher challenge to the jets for one huge reason.......respect. both teams respect each other. the jets were fired up against the pats. they used the 45-3 loss as an advantage. actually it was an advantage on both sides of the line. the pats thought it would be easy and the jets were angry.
this week all there is is who wants it more....and executing the game plan...assuming its a good one.
killa.....i told you in the very beginning....its not personal no one here plays for either team. so i would appreciate it if you would stop shouting at me. no one really cares what a team did seven years ago. or last year.

Randall I was thinking the same thing! Lots of energy spent with the build up to the Pats and they may be just pooped out. I do think they can beat the Steelers but like I was saying at the begining of this thread, I thought they would be up against the Ravens who I see them match up much better against.

Believe what you want the JETS are playing on Sunday in Pittsburgh. The team that wins plays the superbowl in Dallas, doesn't matter who the best team or coach is in any given period. It only matters who wins on Sunday.killa wrote:tried to cut my wrist knife was dull tried to hang myself the tree branch broke.just a bad day in New England.still belive the better team lost but yes randal ON ANY GIVEN.I am a beliver in suporting home team then div second[.except the yanks] go jetsBUT FOR SOME OF THE HATERS ON THIS SITE. As I said earlier there is a reason the games are played.
I hope the jets win, that's all!

It wasn't nearly as bad as watching the Bruins cough up 3 straight...then get up 3- 0 in the final game 7 and upchuck once again and cough the series up. 4 nights of torture in that case ....New England teams ...unfortunately ...have been on a choke fest this year.
Congrats to you Jet fans...does bring back memories of the Joe Namath days. (can't say I'm going to root for you though...just can't do it.,,,maybe one game....)
Go Packers.

Nice to see a few outside the state guys rooting for the Packers! Although you don't have to search real hard to find Packer fans all over the world.
Saw a Mexican in Cabo last year wearing a Favre jersey. Went to break the news to him and he said he knew Favre was an idiot he just loved the Packers. He started by saying " Favre es an asno mudo, pinche cavrone" or words to that effect. We laughed, I agreed and we had a shot of Patron to put it in stone.
When I get cut it runs out green and gold so I can tell you as a life longer that we accept all who want to ride the wave here. No difficult tests or invasive background checks, we just welcome you all to another week of fun! (hopefully 2 more)

Mark,
I started travelling to Wisconsin for work in 1998 and had a 5 year stretch where I spent one week a month in Wisconsin. Love the people and have become a big badgers fan and cheer on the packers as long as they're not playing the jets.
I remember one particular trip when the pack were playing a preseason game in Japan and the small city, Stevens point was all but shut down so that everyone could watch a game in august. Later in the week I was in green bay, huge buzz in town, hotels packed people running around, all to see the packers fly into the local airport on a 747 from japan.
I also stay in the double tree in Madison, regularly All the badgers pre game radio is done from the bar in the hotel. It may be the local espn radio guys not sure.
Talk about a passionate fan base, it's almost impossible for it to not rub off a bit. I hate to even think about anything past the steelers on Sunday but a a jets, packers superbowl would be a dream!

Peter I went to college in Point. They brew a terrible beer there but I drank it anyway! I live roughly half way between Point and Green Bay.
We are a number of things in Wisconsin, painfully dedicated, semi intelligent and often constipated.
It was hard to watch the Rose bowl and see the horn-ed frogs beat us, felt way to much like the Denver Green Bay super bowl.
I have a great friend who moved from NYC to eastern Penn and loves the Jets long time so that is why I am hoping as well for a Jets Packers SB.
I am hoping he has to buy fish tacos and cerveza on the beach in Cabo.....

Mark,
I've been to just about every town or city with a UW campus. I've had point beer, not much of a beer guy but figured "while in Rome". Half way between Stevens point and green bay is pretty darn rural. Where do you do your boating?
I will be in WI for 2 weeks in October, I may be passing by at some point, if so I'll look you up.
When ever any new yorker asks me about Wisconsin I tell them the difference is when you get a sandwich, hogie or sub it's not would you like cheese on that it's what kind of cheese do you want on that.
Also should mention the best steak of my life. Moe's in Milwaukee.

Peter,
Mostly Lake Michigan and early in the year I keep it on the Winnebago system and troll for Walleye. There I am a big boy on my 25, on Michigan not so much.
Do stop by I would love to share some Limburger and pickled white fish with you! I'll get a case of Point it will be a big time! LOL! Remember if your wife is with you do NOT fluff the covers. That may cause brain damage.
No really when you come send me a PM we can have lunch or something!
Ah yes the cheese! When they ask, "Cheddar, Swiss or American" know this, American is not a cheese. It is something that is squeezed out of a live duck and is inedible.

Mark- I went to Marquette along with about 20 other family members. Lived in Cheese land for five years and would come back in a minute. My brother in Law has a nice place on Lake Geneva and from there I watch a nice 31 Cruiser and a couple of 25s run around. He has a Cobalt but I love him any way. My good friends live in Oshkosh (Appleton really) so i've been out on Winnebago a few times, nice lake.
Anyway, the Pack- in 7th grade I read Instant Replay and was hooked. Still get to Lambeau whenever I can. So, even with a NY team in the race, I have to back the Pack. Since my wife is from Chicago, the game this weekend is even bigger than the super bowl in my house.
Pete- next time you are going to Wisconsin pm me- There are some great, great places if you know where they are.

jspiezio,
That new black duct tape is really sticky if the Bear fan wife gets out of line during the game.
Once you get the Packer bug it's tough to shake it.
It's a great story, crappy little paper mill town of 50,000 has playoff caliber professional football team. You can get from one side of town to the other in 15 minutes. Airport has 10 gates and 3 jetways. There is 10,000 acres of corn standing on three sides of the airport for the season opener. Tallest building in Green Bay might be 5 stories. Everybody knows that a bratwurst is served in a bun with onions and mustard. Beer should be kept just above freezing year around. Ice is for fishing on and Ray Nitschke and God chat football on a regular basis.
Geneva is a beautiful lake, to bad they closed the Playboy Club!

Mike,
Thats not a misspell. They spell phoneticaly up there, damn foreigners.
Lets hope the Bears do not make it for the attendees of the bowl.
Barry has said he will go. I've been to sporting events where the POTUS has showed up and the metal detectors and increased security really screwed things up for joe citizen.
Had to take the leatherman micro off the key ring and take it back to the car to get in.
Although Air Force One doing a low level flyby over the venue was pretty cool.

Here's a few interesting factoids about the NFL playoffs this year:
The No. 6 seeds: 4-0 on the road so far.
The No. 1 seeds: 0-2 at home.
Jay Cutler has won one more playoff game this postseason than Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Michael Vick put together.
Rex Ryan has won four playoff games the past two seasons. Bill Belichick has won none.
If the Jets win this week in Pittsburgh, Mark Sanchez will have beaten three quarterbacks with six championship rings in 16 days.
Brett Favre was 27 when Green Bay won the Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers is 27 now.
The last postseason game New England won? That'd be over San Diego 21-12 for the 2007 AFC title, back when the Patriots were 18-0 and Randy Moss was catching passes. They're 0-3 since, averaging barely 16 points.
The Packers never trailing by more than seven points in a game all season. That hadn't happened in the NFL in 41 years.
The Packers, with 91 regular season games missed by starters due to injures this year, are the only team in NFL history to have made the playoffs with 90+ missed games by starters. (Most games won by any other team with that many injured starters: six.)
The only offenses ranked lower than the Bears this season belonged to the 5-11 Arizona Cardinals and 2-14 Carolina Panthers. Cutler was sacked 52 times this year.
As the Jets try to get to the Super Bowl, Joe Namath is now 67.
And finally, the meteorological profile of the Final Four of New York, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Green Bay: Cold, colder, coldest and a retirement heaven for polar bears. All the warm-weather and dome teams have been excused.
And yes it is so cold up here that spell check does NOT work! Brrrrrrrrrrrr

Randall, I think you are right.
We are spoiled for sure up here in NE. Its pretty hard on us when all our sucky teams just keep on winning... :)
So when they lose, its all the more of a surprise.
That being said, we/I know for sure that it won't always be like this. Its fun to be spoiled by it.
The Sox, Pats and now the Celtics again. Not a bad time to be a sports fan.
I'm hoping for a good game come Superbowl time. Go Packers!!!!

After hearing about what mark must be dealing with this all seems so unimportant.
Not sure if you guys heard the nice story about mark Sanchez spending some time with a young kid with a terrible illness. He didn't have much time left and mark went and visited him at his home and went as far as testing the kid to chat before the regular season game against the steelers. Lots of things that are so much more important then a game.
I just hope we get good news and mark and his family can come hiome.

For sure it is fun to jaw about. I swear that is why half the people are so passionate about sports, and they don't even know it. Sports provides a small window of opportunity to have a break from the realities of the world. Do we take it seriously? Yes. But when push comes to shove, we know for sure it is not the real world.
I did read about the young man that Mark Sanchez befriended. It was a touching story. And very cool.
I think that happens more often than we know. The Red Sox have a longstanding relationship with Dana Farber and the Jimmy Fund here in Boston, and the players regularly visit patients there. Its real life, and really helps perk up the kids.
Good luck to you and your family Mark. And Mara, I hope you feel great!!!
