Pretty sure that boat is a sportsman, and that is the factory bow. Anyone confirm?capt. bone the last photo answers my question . i wanted to see how they rounded the inside of the gunnel at the bow . real nice gentle curve
Now that is some really great, time saving advice. I know I can really get lost in fairing something. Spend waaay too long in an area, sand too much off, etc. I'm gonna utilize that technique to it's fullest. Thank you Capt. Pat.BTW, a technique for easily achieving a consistent thickness of fairing compound is to use an 1/8" V notched trowel. Trowel on a complete layer with the trowel, allow it to cure to a leather hardness, and knock off the tips of the ridges with a long flat sureform rasp. Apply another layer of fairing compound with a drywall knife, filling the valleys. Allow a 48 hr cure and sand with course paper over a long board.
