I guess you could eat an army boot if you drownded it with enough cover up like catsup, teriyaka or A-1
An old friend/charter captian actually told me once that properly prepared Bonita made an excellent burger......so far I have not been drunk enough to try it.
I hear it taste about like Spotted Owl or Bald Eagle....

Having been a fishmonger for some time I can tell you it should not be eaten. There are ways to make it ok, but. I know someone and he says his wife cooks tarpon ribs and he loves them. Proof that some stuff can be cooked and made ok. Blue shark soaked in milk for 7-10 days(milk changed every day) then baked I have have been told is good. Im not doing it.

Harry, Don't worry...after enough Cruzan Rum we'd keep ya from trying that.
Hell....I'm with you Brewtser, there is some things that just should not be eaten and especially NOT BAIT. Unless stranded. LOL! Where's my Wahooooo!
Randall, Franklin probably imagined it was Beef Jerkey.

I did hear of one good recipe
Filet the Bonita
Marinate it Salt water for a week
Lay the filets flat on a Hickory plank and let sun dry for a couple of days
Put the plank and the dried filets in the oven and bake at 325 for 30 minutes
Remove from the oven then remove the filets from the Hickory Plank
Wrap the filets in brown paper and discard
Serve the Hickory plank on a bed of fries
Seriously......guys let me tell you this........when I was in my 20's and fishing for Red Snapper we at times could not get past the Trigger Fish to catch the snapper. I bet that personally I have thrown 200 pounds of Triggers back......after all who in their right mind would eat such an ugly fish.........well I have to say that today I will walk right past the Snapper to get to the Triggers.....and the throats are even better than the filets...

I'm with you on that last paragraph Harry, about Triggers. Plus you could recap your shoes with the skin of a trigger fish and never wear out a pair of soules.
