smoothed (sweeping) pilaster

Post by spencer »

Any input would be great from any of the faithful, Or Capt. Patrick

At the point of glassing in the pilaster and want to have a smooth transition to the cap of the boat was wondering how much to transition the fiberglass , approximate.

Start about half way up the pilaster and go to about half way back on the combing. Fill the gap from the lower section of the pilaster all the way back to the change in the combing. So it's both a sweep and a taper...

Use light density foam to form the core & build over it about 3/16" to 1/4" in fiberglass thickness.
