Hi Bertram Fans
All of your postings that I have read so far are about the Bertram
31 fishing boats. We just bought a Bertram 31 Special raceboat
from the sixties. I have exhausted the internet without finding any
really good photos or videos of the interiors of those boats.
Ours is in pretty bad shape, so we don't have much to go on.
Would love to restore it to it's original self. Would love to be able
to find out which boat it actually was, don't hold out much hope for
that though, the boat has been painted and changed so much.
Thanks, Char

Char,
Again, Welcome Aboard.
Images of the "Sherri Lee", one the 31' Bertram race boats that has been nicely refurbished, is shown on the HIDDEN MILL MARINE CENTER site. Nothing on interior finish though.
Generally the interiors of the race boats were purely functional without much finishing touches, so however you do the interior is just a matter of personal choice. Total Artistic License is allowed...

thanks for the feedback. There are no longer any numbers on the boat.
the boat looks like it may have been converted for some illegal activities.
there was a floor forward of the cockpit which we have already removed.
no markings on the boat to help identify it although it was obviously
originally rigged as a raceboat.
thanks, Char

possibly a little light on the subject . the v-berth would be empty with a letter X made of steel that would go from the toe rail down to the opposite side chime. very important the entrance to v-berth is only as wide as a man could fit thru ,if it appears wider like a "hay-bale" went thru it then we have a offshore drug boat making night time deliveries to the keys. usually they used coverted race boats because race boats were allow to "practice " monday thru friday without raising a dea. eye. so they would have a big number on side of boat and do there thing.is the steering wheel in center and the thottles on the starboard side of the cockpit???
