Question for the Floridians

Post by Hueso »

I'll be at Boca Raton tomorrow and Wednesday working. Planning to go down to Capt. Harry's and El Capitan fishing supply stores to look at some Penn reels. Any closer places to Boca Raton I may look at?

Who gives the best prices and/or has a better selection?

Have dealt in the pass with Harry's son and he is a class act.

Are we still talking fishing gear or cat houses?

Not that you'll get the service of Capt.Harry's, but there is a big ol' Bass Pro shop right off I95 in Lauderdale/Dania. Same location as the IGFA hall of fame. I think that it's the Griffin Rd exit.
I don't know what the world may want,
But a good stiff drink it surely dont,
Think I'll go and fix myself...a tall one.

Bruce:

Don't roast me on that one. Let's say it again: "reasonable prices"...

Buju:

Thanks. Bass Pro Shops usually at the high end of fishing tacke prices.

Yes, that is Griffin Road Just one exit South of Ft. Lauderdale proper. Turn right at the end of the ramp,(if you were heading south) and take the first left as soon as you cross the tracks, and then the first left again.

Captain Harry's is the best independent shop I know of in South Florida, nothing competes with it here in Ft. Lauderdale, as far as selection is concerned in a stand alone tackle shop.

The Boat Owner's warehouse for almost everything except reels, beats the typical street prices. There a few locations in the area.

Custom rods are available here at Biscayne Rod. Great Service!

I am not up on the prices. Maybe Beju can help you there

Hueso,

Good luck with your search for fishing gear. Did the Bertram31.com license plate frame ever make it to you? Have a good trip to FL.

Hueso,

I get no kickback, but respect these guys completely. If you are looking new, then it kinda doesn't matter where you buy. IF you are looking used, then call J+B Tackle in Niantic, CT.

They are a spectacular shop in every way. Ask for Cary or Kyle. It is family owned and they really know how to do things the right way. They will ship to save tax.

They can be reached at www.jbtackle.com or (860) 739-7419.

Trust me, they will do you right. Tell them I recommended you call.
