replace wind screen

Hey, has anyone removed the wrap around windshield on the bridge on the B31, and replaced it with a molded fiberglass piece that rises about 6" and curves out slightly to deflect the wind, while running with the curtains up. I know I saw a picture of one like that just don't remember where.If some one could provide a picture that would be great .thanks Russ

Russ- I think Uncle Vic has the reversed venturi wind screen. His is plexiglass. Removal of the old one can be a pain in the ass as you have to get underneath the lip on the bridge to get at the bolts that hold fittings that hold the original.

Walt thanks for the quick comeback. the new boat has the basically the same set up. What I was trying to do was have a permanent fiberglass piece added to the dash for additional hight and curved slightly out ward to deflict wind and remove the Plexiglas wind screen alltogether. I have seen it on some boat but I can't find the picture. the whole dash is being re done for flat screen electronics.this will be my last boat so what the hell, I can't take with me so I might as well spend it. thanks again Russ

Russ-

There is or was an aftermarket f'glass part that dropped over the top of your instrument panel and includes a windscreen and flat panels for electronics. I know that's a bad explanation, but look for a pic. of JK's SeaNile--he used it there.

Bobby I PM'ed you thanks Russ,John I looked at seanile and in some pictures it looks as if it was modified and some it doesn't cann't tell. I think Roland on Super Mex had it done but cann't find any pictures. thanks guys...Russ

I just scrolled down seeing the beautiful background, then the 31's Outriggers, Top, Antenna, Bridge, Gunnel, Freebourd then the street and trailer popped into view. I was expecting to see her in the water. Just taken back.

Great idea to pull her out from time to time, then bring her to your working area then try to lug the working area to her.

We have a mechanic that will only work on your boat if he can bring it to his shop. He does mostly the smaller boats, but has taken some big ones as well. Similar setup to yours.

Man,I wish we didn't have all the wires across the roads. I wood love to bring the boat back to the house to work on.

What a beautiful boat! that color combination is super. It really accentuates the great lines of the Bertram 31. Very clean, no clutter...smooth lines, really nice.
