Scuppers

Post by Ripsangler »

I know this has been covered but I can't find pictures of some scupper ideas. Anybody have some? Mine are original. Thanks, Kurt

These work well, I'm not sure if another place has them but here's a link to worst marine.

For years I played with several variations, hard, soft, longer, shorter, wider rubber scuppers. I found Soft rubber allowed the boat to drain best, but they needed to overlap the hole a good deal to prevent being sucked into the hole with large waves.

Still I had issue with a good deal of water coming in from the scuppers...that was until I added a second set up scuppers on the inside of the transom Ledge. this allows water to drain from the deck and enter the well to drain. It allows for water to enter the well but not pass into the boat. Basically its a second check valve. On my old teak transom ledge I just stapled it in place using monel staples. That modification really made the difference.
