Summer Girl

Post by In Memory Walter K »

I was Fluke fishing off the south side of Montauk yesterday and saw a beautifully restored B-31 I had never seen in our local waters before. It was a Sportsfisherman like mine, dark blue hull, tan bimini but no enclosure, the bow rails were removed. The name on the transom was "Summer Girl" and it hailed from Smith's Cove. We waved at each other several times. I tried to contact him on the VHF on our local Montauk channel 19, but he didn't respond. Wondered if he was one of The Bretheren on the site. He certainly is with his boat. Anyone familiar with the boat and/or owner? Walter

Shelter Island. I have some nice pictures of that boat passing North Ferry several weeks ago, but that image card is somewhere else. I'll try to post them tomorrow AM.
