yup.
3208 that is missing the induction system. Could be anything from 325hp up. If there is an aftercooler missing could be anything 350hp & up.
I don't see any aftercooler water lines hanging around so my guess is 325hp turbocharged, non-aftercooled. Great hp range for the 3208, excellent engine.
What is this? 3208?

I don't know what the world may want,
But a good stiff drink it surely dont,
Think I'll go and fix myself...a tall one.

Buju,
How old is that engine?
I thought that the older 3208T was a lower horsepower maybe 300-320.
Then they went 3208 TA ( saw the first prototypes in a 38 Topaz when my father had the dealership in maybe 83-84) up to 355 then kept increasing through the late 80's/ early 90's to 435.
I thought there was maybe another engine before that but can't be sure.
Looks like whatever it is the vessel that houses it could use a little tlc/paint?

I am certainly no CAT historian, but I think the natural was 210hp, turbo started at 255hp and the turbo, no aftercoolers went "up to" 325hp and everything above that had the aftercoolers, or TA. The TA went "up to" 475hp. The 475hp were commonly known as "grenades"
I think most agree the 375hp TA was the real shizzle in the 3208 family. Strong and durable.

Thanks Scot.
The first ones I remember were the low 300 straight turbos- God I was just a kid then. I even remember a handful of B31's with that vintage iron in them (talk about stuffed)
The 375's were for sure as good as they got. Just had to watch the timing gears on the fuel pumps as I remember.
Then came the 3116/3126 and poof we were in the electronic era-- but I digest.
Good Stuff
