Raymarine Auto Pilots & Siruis Weather (SR50)
While searching around for the best price on raymarine's SR50 siruis weather receiver, just for sh!ts and giggles I started looking at auto-pilots on raymarines's website. If I'm not mistaken it looks like the minimum price for a raymarine autopilot is $2500!
Is that what those of you with auto-pilots have spent?
Also, is anyone running siruis weather (either E or C series). If so any likes/dislikes?
The SR50 is down to $250 for the receiver. The monthly service is $29.95 plus an extra $6.95 if you want music. I don't know why, but the C series will play music over the display while the E series will not.

The Sitex 70 and 80 series autopilots are about a grand. My 70 has perfomed flawlessly for 15 years. Katrina whacked the control head (AJ floated around in a dry stack building with 15 feet of water in it and took an outboard lower unit thru the FB) and SeaTrac was able to get me a brand new head with no trouble, as Sitex still manufacturers them.

I have the Raymarine ST6001 without the Gyro for $1100, with the Gyro chip, about $500-$600 more. Mine works great with Capt. Pat's oversize rudders. But I have XM radio & weather for my Garmin 545 w/ G2 card. Cats Meow

I have the E-120.
I love the machine and the functionality. Very easy to use.
that being said, I am disappointed by Raymarine.
The temp in my transducer went out at the end of the first season. It was all of a couple of weeks out of warrantee. The dealer brought in a new ducer, thinking that Raymarine would cover parts at least.
Not only did Raymarine not cover the parts, but they wanted to charge their DEALER a 25% restocking charge. Bullshit. Now the dealer wants me to buy the ducer which is not the right one, and I don't want, and Raymarine not only stuck me, but their own dealer!
They gave me a temp and speed sensor, which is another transducer, but that was after they started off telling me they wanted to give me a transom mount.. yah.. right...
So I love the machine, but Raymarine can go shit in a hat for all I care...

Charlie,
That was pretty amazing, wasn't it.
That machine has provided a dead nuts on picture of what is happening around me more than once.
One of my trips running home from offshore I was able to skirt most of a hard squall and minimize it's impact. It was still a heck of a ride, but much shorter and not as bad as if I had not had the visibility...
You need the antenna and the black box. The black box will cost you more.
And that Montauk show was pretty amazing too...

The prices I'm quoting include both the black box and antenna:
