The problem..port motor reaches rpm out of gear but when i place her in gear i get no more than 14oo rpm's. the stbd motor is fine in and out of gear.the things i have done.changed fuel filter, plugs, dist.cap and rotor, checked timing.thinking fuel pump? Can't wait for the repower!

Is it carburated?? If so check accelerator pump.

Is ethanol screwing with your tank a possibility...

Bad fuel...

Could choke be stuck...

Does the shaft turn freely, that is easlily by hand. Something could be wrapped on shaft or prop, motor mounts could have dropped and alignments way off.

Check the fuel line from the tank to the filter for restrictions, especially the fittings. I you have seperate pick-up tubes for each engine, check that too. A run-up @ no load is lot less fuel flow than loaded. It's happened to me before.

If they are Mercruisers & the plug wires are more than three years old: get rid of them!
