F*#%ing winter

Post by Mikey »

It's wet, cold, miserable and my Bride thinks its pretty.

An empty boat house covered in slush ain't pretty.
However, it is an "R" month. Got a quart of oysters, got out U.V.'s recipe for Oyster saute and had at it. Damn, that will raise your spirits. The bourbon probably helped. It was so good, we got another pint and did it as hors d'oeuvres last night. Of course, this morning I had to sweep snow off the boat shed to keep the plastic over it and not in it.
Come on Spring.

Really beautiful scene Mikey, of course us Southerns enjoy looking at the pretty pictures because we don't have to shovel our way out of our houses 3 months out of the year. It only takes a little ice to bring life to a stand still down here.

Temp. in MD is 20 degrees. I've got the day off, and its down to the boat to get some more work done on the windows. I heard last night (while watching the Giants win--GO GIANTS!!) that spring rock season opens 4/16. Gotta' be ready. C'mon Mikey--thermals and layers, and it takes a couple hours to lose the feeling in your fingers.........

John,
If you do the layers and the thermals and spend an hour knocking the snow off the roof of the shed from underneath with a long pole you're fingers never get cold but you sweat like a goat and when you get home and take all those layers off it smells like the goat is still in there with you.

Building not built for snow. We don't generally get that kind of stuff and the building is getting some age and was originally put up as a temporary item, not intended for seven years.
