Original B31 fridge and stove?

Post by Face »

1st off, sorry for the lack of details, I should know more about this tmrw...I was told by a friend of an original 12v refrigerator and stove top that came out of a B31 that is available at a local used marine parts store. My buddy is going to ask the guy to hold it for me.

Is there a one piece fridge/stove combo that came in the 31?
Will it fit the whole in my B28 where the original fridge was?
Should I bother with this or go new?

Thanks,
Joe

Unless Patrick corrects me, there was no standard stove and fridge that came in the 31, nor have I seen an early 31 with either unless the owner put them in after they bought it. Walter

Better check to make sure it will fit thru the cabin door.

The frig that came in my 31 Express would not fit thru the door........I had to cut it up in the cabin to be able to remove it from the boat............what fun that was! ! ! !

I will be replacing the bulkead and door in the coming months during this restoration process. I guess I'd better get a fridge that will last for a while and install it during the bulkhead replacement.

I saw the "fridge" yesterday. Turns out it is a big fiberglass cabinet with a cold plate type box built in the top, compressor in the bottom. On the left side is a single burner stove. The fiberglass cabinet/counter is about 1/4" thick and I imagine it was original to the boat. I think he said it came out of a '61. Anyway, I dont' really want it, but he said he'd take $35 for the whole thing. Anyone interested and in Maryland, lemme know.
