Hinkley Clone

Post by Bruce »

I've been working on a Hinkley clone, Yanmar 440 twins with Hamilton jet drives.

I realized just how round the bottom was on a sea trial. I had to make a sharp turn and back again.
When doing so I noticed how the boat heeled side to side so I decided to try something.

Worked the wheel back and forth real fast and got the boat rockin to the point of almost putting the top of the deck under water on each side.

When I stopped it rocked like an old car with no shocks for a bit.

These boats are truely lake or river boats.

This NY owner is heading to the Bahamas. Not me..............

These picnic boats. Last season I was cruising inside the bay when I noticed a picnic boat gaining on me. Never one to shake off a race, I throttled up and was WOT as he passed to stbd. They were laughing, my wife screaming, so what to do?

I give 'em the finger.
