Rear windows

Post by le3 »

Couple of quick questions:

Both of my rear windows are cracked. What is the best replacement, tempered glass or plexiglass? Any shortcuts would be appreciated.

What is the best way to sound proof and weather proof the seams of my engine boxes? I am looking to stop water leaking on the motors and keep the genset sound down.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank You

Lou,

Laminated glass.

And for the engine boxes I would gasket them with rubber window gasket if you feel you need to, though there are many drainage channels around the outside. But to deaden the sound, you want Soundown. It works very well.

Dug,

Where can I purchase sound down?

Any suggestions on where to have the windows made (with the laminated glass) in South Jersey?

www.soundown.com

One of the guys who works there participates on this board if you post a specific message.

I have no idea on windows. I am in MA. I would think any local window shop or glass shop should be able to. That is where I got mine done. I brought in the old glass, cracked etc, that it was, and they made to match.
