Engine UNSTUCK

Post by Mikey »

Well, . . . I took the barring tool and inserted, added a short bar, said a little prayer, threatened to drown the son of a bitch in CW and it turned easily. Weird. So, I reistalled the starter and got the same click click click.
"Damn", I thought, "bad starter." But before I pull that critter off again, think I'll bar it over some more. Did about a full rev and a half and tried the starter again and low and behold, RRRRRRRRR.
WHEW! Even got oil at the valves so we've got oil pressure. Tomorrow I'll start to reassemble and see if I can kill mosquitos behind Dreamsicle.
Thanks, guys for the aid and encouragement. Keep you posted.

Good news for sure. Shoot that starter bendix with CX too. Are you familiar with the fuel bleeding procedure for the 6BTA? Gotta do it by the book or you will never get them started.

Go Mikey!

Here we see it again. This WAS a big problem .. could have been big bucks but thanks to this site, all is going just fine. Yeah, Mikey could have gotten the thing turning on advice from elsewhere.

But he got it here. Long live Captain Patrick!
