Labor Abuses at Cummins
Well after reading this article, I have decided that I will definitely not be using Cummins diesels in Windstar. After a long proud tradition with unionized labor, Cummins has taken an anti union position with several of it's plants and ruined the lives of many loyal hardworking employees.
As a union member myself (Teamsters) I find it hard to support a company that is clearly taking a path to being a bottom feeder. If they had been nonunion all along it wouldn't make a difference. But there is no way I can support a union buster and scab employer.

also check the pdf link at the bottom....it goes into more detail regarding 18 illegally sponsored union decirtification attemts by Cummins since 2000. A decirt vote can only be called by the union members themselves, not the company.

Harv,
You've touched on a subject that's as delicate as religon or politics.
There are good points for both sides of the union argument.
Lets be very careful how we post replies as friendships can be lost with this topic.
I will be watching very carefuly and will lock or delete this thread if need be.
Lets be civil.

Bruce,
I agree there are good points for both sides of this argument.
Having been on both sides, I know which is better for me personally. I am not knocking the product, just the current business practice. As I said, if they were never a unionized company it wouldn't make a difference to me. I am certainly not looking to disrupt any friendships here as I treasure them all. If you feel the need to lock or delete this thread, I have no problem with that and understand completely.
UV,
I am honored by my position in your life and have the utmost respect for you and your opinions. As far as I am concerrned, I have said all I have to say on this topic.

Since the libations have been brought out, I would like to make a toast.
Here's a health to you and yours who have done such things for us and ours.
And when we and ours have it in our powers to do for you and yours what you and yours have done for us and ours,
Then we and ours will do for you and yours what you and yours have done for us and ours.
