Scot,
Atop a small hill & 1,100 ft above sea level... What, me worry? My well welcomes all the rain it can get. Most of what will hit on Thrusday and Friday will be in the souteastern part of central Texas & south of I-10. Probably won't get much over an 1" or so here.
I have, though, recorded over 45" of rain for the year so far... Normal is only 27". This will probably break the record for the wettest year in history for the state.
Br,
Patrick

Remember Hurricane Erin from 95 when it hit Pensacola Beach and then Hurricane Opal crossed the same path on Pensacola Beach 60 days later.
Better throw those magnets out of your pockets Capt. Patrick, you might get wet again? I thought you moved to Texas to get away from Hurricanes?

Doug,
The last hurricane to threaten Llano was Gilbert back in, (or around), 1989. Same track as Dean, blew Cancun off the map & went in to Texas bewteen Corpus & Brownsville as a cat 5. Only managed to kill a few cows because it went in over the King Ranch...
When Dean gets closer, (below Cuba), the gulf should be under a pretty good high pressure system with another high pressure ridge moving in from the northeast. If I were gonna' hazard a guess at this time, Dean could be a Mexican Storm...

Guys, gotta agree with Capt. Patrick, most of the models show that. The site I use is www.skeetobiteweather.com that is very complete and shows all the models in one place. It projects Dean as a cat 4 by Monday south of Cuba....the UKMET shows it going over Cancun and into Mexico south of Brownsville.

....one way or another our tax dollars will pay for the reconstruction. If it's Texas it will be FEMA, if it's Mexico it will be considered International Relief Funds (from us)...either way, we pay. That's one way to handle the illegal problem.
