How come?
I wanted to shoot my mouth off on the Yan Mar protocol thread. But it's locked!

Dick,
The 6LP valve issue has been gone over in various threads starting two years ago when I brought up the issue before it made "headlines" as a courtesy to the 6LP owners out there.
Here we like to have the facts known as accurately as possible so that boat owners can make an intelligent decision on how to proceed with the repairs of their boat.
We have very smart people here that participate, but the average boater does not have the experience to wade thru a 10 pound bag of crap to find the answer to his problem.
Boat diesel is the perfect place for mass hysteria and those that want to participate can go there and sort thru the various "nose bent out of joint" and "playground sandbox" crap that I for one out grew 40 years ago.
Now that being said, I'm taking my crayons and going home.........

The motion passes.
That being said, Bruce paid me a huge compliment at the rendezvous, when he said that I had done a nice job on my boat. It meant a lot.
So despite his being on the mean team, and maybe even the captain, he has shown capacity to have grown out of the ever popular captain happy pants moniker...

I wouldn't want Bruce to put his new membership at risk but how about posting the distilled facts about the Yanmar valve issue again, maybe as one of the forums because it is going to come up again. It took me hours of searching on boatdiesel.com to be satisfied that the new but old stock Yanmars we bought were outside the affected build dates. Dealer here claimed not to know about it.
And what happened to walking through those fields of flowers? It doesn't take long for you guys to revert to type.

Take a look at http://yanmarsettlement.com/. It tells you pretty much everything you might want to know. It gives you serial #'s on which engines might have troubles.
I'll never ruin a $50 buzz with a $4 sandwich
