Definitely a 38. Early 60's is correct. A larger version of the 31 hull. Originals had that Bertram light blue hull on some and definitely on the trim on all. Don't know what they were powered with, but strangely weren't that popular. Although there weren't that many made, for a while you could buy them for a song. Built like a tank. The lower and upper areas were more rounded as I remember them. Whoever did this rebuild seems to have squared them off. Actually (my opinion) it's an improvement. Walter
I beleive that boat to be from falmouth. " OFF THE CUFF" It's got a couple big detroits in it and the guy spends some serious money fixing and keepin it nice. The boat is in emaculate condition. He keeps it at falmouth marine.
Man, you talk about "live and learn". I was under the impression Bertram ONLY made the 31 / 25 / 20 in Ray Hunt hulls in the 60's....and the next generation boats all came out later with Napier hulls, 33 / 28 / 35..etc....Post Ray Hunt??? That boat does have a Bertram looking aft cabin and fly bridge, The bow looks Ray Hunt, but the stern looks more like the Napier designs??
Still in school!
