1.5 million in upgrades. Holy cow.

Re: It's time to get dressed and have a shower!
It is one beautiful boat without a doubt. Over 1.5 million on the restoration has me scratching my head a bit. I have to say it makes more sense to me than some of the boats costing much more. Those new European style boats or the monster center consoles with a 1/2 dozen outboards.
All good, whatever floats their boat.

Few days ago I saw former Buddy Boy, now Legacy, offered for 220 grand, OBO.
Call me nostalgic but I'd choose Buddy Boy 365 days a year and not for the price...

Something tells me that they won't be recovering the restoration cost... Although it would be nice if old Bertrams got the same treatment that old Ferrari's or Old Porsche's

They do Jeremy, in fact better!
I’ve easily spent 10X on my Bertram as on my old Porsche.
My wife says they’re both just a body wrapped around big engines and a fuel tank.

Yes, just to see how much the boat sells for, although I suspect that he’ll ask anybody interested to first come and see the boat and then discuss the price…

Re: It's time to get dressed and have a shower!
Boat is offered at $1,150 Mio...
Re: It's time to get dressed and have a shower!
Cool, I hope they get it !
Seeing some of the work done on this sight and the amount of hours put in I can see those numbers if one was to account for the thought to reality process.
The physical work may be hard and laborious, but I find that’s the easy part…it’s all the thought and planning before picking up the sawzall we do not account for. I really need to read that over a couple times as I make this mistake too often

I do agree Carl, primarily due they had the boat refurbished by one of the most iconic custom sportfisherman Manufacturer.
What I can't see here, with all due respect for selling Firm, is the marketing strategy to putting the boat on sale after less than one year since delivery.
This may induce some concern on possible issues (does her sail not as foreseen?) or trivially, guessing it's some kind of bidding offer (boat is not even listed on Broker's site)

My gut says Bayliss Boatworks delivered everything on the checklist and more. Way out of my league but how many mega yachts are built and delivered to clients with the next one in the process of being built.
For me it would be a dream boat, like Buddy Boy would have been.

That Bayliss boat is a dream. Looks like it is set up with everything the way I’d do it. Guessing the owner had more interest in the process than using the final product. Anchor locker, teak deck, 360 views in the cabin, checks all my boxes.
I was close to the dream with Buddy Boy and after looking at the current price tag and the list of what they did. The survey I had done says they fell short, did the minimum to get it running and added 100k to the price. Sounds a lot like an HGTV house flip.
Both really awesome boats, just question the price tag.

Nice car @amberjack Looks like a 1987 3.2 Carrera with 16x6 and 16x7 fuchs. I tracked a few Porsche's over the years and always told my friends that owning a boat makes Porsche ownership - even tracking a car seem reasonable.

Re: It's time to get dressed and have a shower!
I guess it's already been asked, but why the "spare no expense" refit, only to turn around and attempt to recover the expense?
I can see someone spending that kind of money because they want to keep the boat, or maybe to showcase their refit/restoration abilities.
Being a bertram won't get you a million, maybe being a bayliss will. I guess we'll see.

Geebert- I think Peter hit it on the head...the Houston owner maybe be more interested in The Process, then the actual boat. Have a vision and make it happen.
I said Houston owner as that looks to be the Port of call. I guess reality is we have no clue of the whats and whys with so little information. What I do know...I do not have a million for a boat and if I did I do not see me buying that boat with it.

Good eye Jeremy, it’s an 86. Most reliable car I’ve ever owned and by far the most fun to drive.
