Me and my Mrs will be in Irvington VA on Friday, and some local insight on accomodations would be appreciated.
She is being extremely cooperative about this trip, so I'm looking for something with a 'better' or 'best' rating.
Hope and Glory Inn ? The Tides ?
Any recommendations ?
Thanks in advance.

We stayed at the Hope and Glory Inn before we got a place on the Northern Neck and liked it. We've since recommended it to several other friends and have not received any bad reviews (and they're still friends). The Tides Inn has a reputation for being pretty posh, but I've only eaten at the restaurant, which was not bad. The Tides Inn has the advantage of being on the water and the 1920's vintage Miss Ann dinner yacht is pretty cool. Rawleigh lives just around the corner so hopefully he will give you the real low down.

John,
I live in Irvington. Take it you're not coming by boat. Drat.
Both places are very nice. Hope and Glory - intimate, close to shops and restaurant. The Inn - large, great food of late, on the water, Miss Anne is currently on the ways with a dead engine. Bummer! There are other restaurants locally that will put it right in your watch pocket. Shopping in the area is super for your Bride and one very good men's shop. Both hotels are within walking distance of each other.
Call me for more. When do you arrive? How long here? Maybe we can rendzvous. You can view the fabled Dreamsicle, the only project as old as the Tub.

Arriving around noon on Friday.
Have to load up a B20 @ Rappahannock Yachts.
This was a deal that one of the faithful brokered last yr.
I've finally made the time to come and get it.
Boat loading should go quickly as my trailer is all rollers, and I've done this afew times before.
No other plans.
We were just going to be tourists for the rest of the afternoon.
Booked in @ the Hope & Glory for friday night.
Have a dinner reservation (can't remember where, lady @ the hotel looking after this for me).
Mikey & Rawleigh, I have your #'s.
I'll call when we get into town.
Would be great to hook up in the afternoon and or for dinner.
Plans up north dictate we be back on the road by mid morning Saturday.
Cheers,

John,
When you get to Rappahannock Yachts you will be at the home of Dreamsicle. I think I brokered that deal for you if memory serves. You owe me commission. How about a cold one. If you need help loading let me know. I will probably be at the yard. Instructions to Dreamsicle: enter yard, drive straight toward creek, twenty feet from water look to your right, a shabby shrink-wrap covered building contains the project of projects (or as the Bride calls it, "The project from Hell."
If Rawleigh gets his s#*t together, Creek Cruise! Otherwise . . .
Look forward to meeting you.
