Outrigger Bases

Post by nic »

We’ve been faffing around with some outriggers bases given to me by a local enthusiast but they are just not going to work.

I really want to fit the outriggers bases to the flybridge sides so they can be operated by the skipper from the bridge, at the same time I want them to be original or as close to original as possible. We just can't get the strength in the sides to take the small bases we were given, because of access issues, so we are now thinking of the three point bases.

I think the ID of the tube needs to be 48mm but if anyone has a suggestion of type and source I will confirm the ID, we’ve got the 6m fiberglass poles favoured here.

I've sent a request to Danny at Hightide, would appreciate other suggestions.

Thanks again all,

Nic

Nic,

You might look into the Rupp "Side Kick" style... They're similar in action to the original Lee "Junior", but easier to operate.
