MORSE CONTROLS

Post by Craig Mac »

i need to replace the transmission control cable for port side on a flybridge boat---type 33-C---does anybody know the length? they sell them from 14'--40' in intervals of one to two feet. i would use the old one---but need it in place to pull the new one--i do not see markings on case to indicate the length.

Hi Craig,

The length should be at the end of the part number which should be heat stamped into the jacket near both ends, sometimes this is in inches.

BTW, the core from dead control cables makes a great snake.

Craig,

if nothing else you could attach a (cord) or whatever to your old cable. Pull the old cable and leave the cord in place as a snake. Then take your measurement or locate the ID on the old cable.

I did that for all four of my cables, worked ok.
