Please welcome DonClark the new owner of “Summer Winds”

Post by Whaler1777 »

Hi fellas,

After a lot of consideration and back and forth of whether or not I wanted to tackle another full on restoration when I retire, with the interests of my growing family in mind I have decided to pass the torch on the Summer Winds.

Her buyer Donovan (donclark) is a new member and will be undoubtedly on here looking for as much additional information and guidance as possible. I am happy to pass her on to him as I know that she’s in more than capable hands to get the job done and get her back to her glory and out on the water...

Thanks!

Hey everyone!
Thanks for the introduction John, yes indeed very exited at my new project and happy to be part of this family.
I’m am originally from South Africa, I now live in Gig Harbor, WA. I have a wife and two young children. I am the captain of a 150’ private motor yacht cruising international waters. I am a carpenter by trade and also did boat building back back in SA.
I’m sure I will be reaching out to you all for advice and guidance.
Summer Winds is just a shell for now but I’m looking to get her back and even better to her former glory.
Thank you
Tavis

Hello Don--
You are not very far and in fact Amberjack spent a couple days in Gig Harbor last summer when we went south due to the border closure. Reach out once we get this craziness behind us and I'll show you 1969 FBC updated but still true to the original. The boat lives at Elliott Bay Marina during summer when not cruising--we hope this year back in British Columbia.
