tech question
all righty...changing the inboard starboard manifold......it wont slide off the studs cause its too close to the port manifold so heres what i did.....i suspended it from a steel bar by putting a dowel through it and wiring it up to the bar ....ok floating in space...i turned out the studs with vice grips...this worked surprisingly easy cept for one thing.....the studs are tapped right through to the water jacket so i get the mini fire hose of anti freeze........now im putting it back together with the new manifold and i sure only want to do it once....should i coat the studs with something to keep the fluid in or just put them in dry which is i think how it was done before??

thanks guys...now the next problem is the bozo who put the exhaust system together over tightened the 2 inch flange on the end of the muffler...crushing it pretty good....i can tell from the rust telltale it was about a 1/4 inch from leaking.....................so....do i put a little piece of hose on ,as a form, filled with epoxy (maybe a little cut cloth)to make it round again ...........or...put a collar and a new pipe.....which will shorten the flexable part of the hose.......are we having fun yet?

Randall,
You can get a SS "Crush Sleeve" that inserts into the fiberglass pipe. Centek Industries has them, but not sure you can buy direct... On the linked page, scroll down to "ACCESSORIES".

thanks partick.....fraid if i try to uncrush it it will break entirely....its the male end......building it back to round with cloth and thickened epoxy....using a little piece of hose as a form....looks like it had taper to begin with so i dont think the sleeve will work....but its good to know they exist....thanks
