Hard top & bracing question.

Hello all,

I recently purchased this beautiful 31', has everything I need and she is also getting ready for a nice list of additions ( hard top with bridge enclosure, outriggers, radar, bigger fish boxes ect…)

I need advice with the following add on: Building the BRIDGE ENCLOSURE structure & bracing. need to mention that I will have a 4' Garmin Radar on the top & strataglass enclosure.

my question: should i run aluminium pipes all the way to the bow? or just to the lip of the existing main cabin head?

on many models they are just braced to the from the hard top to the top of the cabin, but most of them (at-least the ones i saw) were full fiberglass cabins. I have all glass windows & I was wondering if that would be strong enough to hold the bridge top or I need to brace lower to the bow.

hello Yannis,

yes it does, I'm shipping it to Liberia West Africa. over here outboards are easier to service, repower, & maintain. there are no boat service shops, nor skilled technicians in the marine industry. Everything has to be shipped in.

If you add two striped white and blue cushions on the engine boxes, one may even think she’s a new 35, so similar and shiny she looks!

Anyway, if going all out on the enclosure maybe re enforce bridge from the gunnels keeping the boats lines.
Going from bow doesn't sound like much flowing lines would be happening...and that would be ashame on that boat.

sounds like the best way; however we need to install the outriggers on the gunnels too... but I totally agree working on keeping the flowing lines.

Instead of running outriggers off the gunnel, consider incorporating the outrigger bases into the tops structure.
Kind of sister or piggy back the base off one of the support poles.

Yeah Fez no worries,
From what I understand she was owned by a hard core fisherman, a doctor actually. Alex from 31Bertram.com sold her to me and I towed her from Los Angeles area all the way up to Northern CA. where my property is.
