Correct Diameter Bolts for 1 1/5 Shaft Struts?

Hi guys...The struts I am installing are a bit more heavy duty than the ones I removed which supported 1 3/8 inch shafts...They have a square hole type of configuration...I wanted to drill them out and install...What size diameter bolts would you recommend?? Thanks, John

I never used anything larger than 3/8 and never had an issue.
