My Last Post on Bow Chocks

Post by Dug »

I have 14 checks.

I will be looking forward to the mail today.

Anyone on the fence, send me a note, or it is highly likely that the checks will all be returned.

I will talk with my vendor to determine if 14 is enough, and that may happen, but right now, with 15-20 needed, we are one short.

If it doesn't happen, I am sorry...

Thank you to everyone who has sent checks. I appreciate your confidence and support!

Dug,
Consider this........The chocks are $300 each and you need a minumum quantity of 15 to make an order.

If each of us that did place an order are willing to pay an additional $25.00 this project could be a go.........

Whacha think?????

I am willing to pay an extra $25.00.......I hate to see the project get scrapped.

How about guys?????????

If this happens, we are a go.

Phew!

When Timmy's check gets here, I will pull the trigger.

thank you to everyone for your trust, and it looks like we will make this happen!

Good idea Steve.........butttttt.......I'm saving my money for the SW Pass Lighthouse.....Although one of these chocks would certainly make a nice door knocker for the new Lighthouse.

Its not my place to step on anyones feet here but I have not seen a mention of this on the www.25bertram.com, or www.33bertram.com. They may be good for 2-3 orders between the two. I know that most of the guys visit this site but a few might have slipped by. I am using the LED on the flybridge on my 25 bertram or I would jump on one of these. Just an idea.

I'm under the impression these don't have the light inserts. Hope I'm correct.

Captain Bone,

The lights will not accomodate nav light capability.

I have not posted there, you are right. I will, but we have 16 orders when one last Canadian check arrives.

I HAVE 15 IN HAND, SO WE ARE A GO!!!!

I will be contacting the vendor next week to give a thumbs up and a final count.

Thanks everyone! I am excited.

Well Mark,

Technically as well as practically, the chock won't be involved in your docking at all...

But you will find that it is a great place to run your dock lines through the center to the cleats mounted on the deck.

And it is the first thing the offender will see when ramming speed is achieved!!!

Mark, think of the bow chock as a really elaborate fairlead. the bow lines are retained in the centre groove made by the swoopy parts.

Thanks Boyz. Rocket got to the crux of my question. So, yer telling me I don't need a center cleat? I hope that's what you meant...

You still have to have a cleat...

Mark,

What, I didn't answer your question? That is what I said! A good place to run your bowlines through to the center cleats...

Hmmm...

No worries Mark.

It is going to take time to get these.

I am expecting to place the order this week.

As I said in the note thanking you for the check, we are likely looking at 2-3 months until they are here. There is tooling that has to be created etc.

I will confirm all timelines when the order is placed.

As of right now, 9 am on Tuesday, the day after Memorial day, I haven't cashed any of the checks, as I was waiting for them to arrive. Now that I know there are enough to kick this off, I will be moving to place the order.

That is where we stand now.
