Geaux Deep
When I read about a boat named Geaux Deep I know I have been here a while... Anyone remember her and her story? She turned up on a group on Fbook and the guy is looking to sell the Yanmar 230 hp 4 cyl engines. I think he is looking for $14,000 for the set give or take. The group is called Sportfishing Classifieds Worldwide.
Sad story. The boat Is in Corpus Christy Texas and this is what the owner said about it... They drove it up from Port Mansfield about 7 years ago and parked it where it sits now. He had a turbo going out on him on the way up. They were going to redo the whole boat and got crossways so it sat.
I remember the owner was on here years ago, and that boat performed! I understand the engines may not be all that good, but who knows.
I guess the current owner is going to add outboards... Bummer...

I found it. She was owned by Randle Hall out of Port Mansfield Texas.
I found an additional post from 2011. He had to sell the boat because he lost his Captains license. Evidently the Coast Guard considered too overweight and yanked it.

Re: Geaux Deep
I think Mike Kennedy and I rode back to Venice from the UVII at Port Eades with Garry. Mikey was sick and I had to take him to the hospital in New Orleans. Nice boat and a nice guy!! It was the first time I had ridden on a Bahia Mar. He was good friends with Vic I believe.

Mike
He must have sold it to Randle Hall. Or there are two of them. I found this post.

Re: Geaux Deep
I believe it's the same boat.
Re: Geaux Deep
That's a nice looking Bahia Mar! I'm sorry to hear that she's taken a slide down hill.
I clicked on the UVI link that Mike posted yesterday and it was like a blast from the past reading about the tournament. It's sobering to think of all the great guys that participated in the UVI 1 that have taken their final flight west: Uncle Vic, Capt. Patrick, Buzzy and Wayne and I'm sure there are others that are sorely missed. I'll raise a clear in their honor tonight!
Centurion is right down the dock from my boat here in New Orleans and is up for sale. She's a little dirty, but for the most part looks great. Here's a link to her listing:

Thanks for posting that link Mike!!

Re: Geaux Deep
Dug,
Gary Jordon sold the Bahia Mar back about 7 years ago, I did the survey on the new boat that he bought in North Palm Beach ,it was a custom built Express with a full tower , can't remember what the make of the boat was but it was similar to an L&H. I don't know who bought his Bertram could have been Randle Hall.

I remember looking at those Cats in Centurion and marveling that they got them to fit! They are huge.

Re: Geaux Deep
Really too bad in my mind. The boat looked somewhat rough, as sitting in one spot, in the water or not for 7 years is a BAD thing.
Kinda cool everyone remembers!!!!

They may have got them in...but do they really "fit".
Yeah, they are huge!
And heavy too...look how high that water line is.
Re: Geaux Deep
I bet she rides great with the Cats. The weight of the DD 8.2s in Crows Nest really helps sometimes.

I think it's "ran" great with Cats as they are looking to sell the 4 cylinder Yanmars according to 1st post by Dug
Re: Geaux Deep
Carl: Dug's post was about Geaux Deep, but the thread wandered as we often do to a B31 called Centurion that was at UVII too. It had factory installed Cats with longer engine boxes.

Yannis- - only bet I'd make here is that I'm probably still confused...
Re: Geaux Deep
Carl,
Listen, I understand, but, whether you’ll offer or receive beers from Tony is perfect.
You’ll both drink them together, however, try to verify your visual angles lol !

No worries Tony, I dish it out plenty myself, so I am due a few good ribbings in return.
